Ummm.. can anyone say.... Drum and Bass is awesome?!?!

So yeah.. like I posted a week ago, I went to see DJ Keita with Kouta today. umm yeah... I LOVE me some drum and bass. Not that this should be any interest to anyone really. I met a lot of cool people today. First and foremost, I met DJ Aki.. who is the best Drum & Bass DJ in Tokyo. He did a set today at Womb (a club in Shibs (Shibuya) where the show was tonight) and it was AWESOME! I met this other guy named Takeo who makes a lot of electronic music on his computer I believe.. he did a "live", which is a live performance, along with DJ Aki.

Embarassingly enough, everybody that was at Milk last week (all the DJs and their friends), were at Womb.. and... they all remembered my crazy ass dancing in the front of the club.. ha ha ha At first I was a little embarassed, but then I realized that this is great!! They remember me! :) It's nice to be in a huge city that has millions of people and then to have people actually remember who you are, even if you are remembered for dancing like a crazy person for four hours straight.

Anyway, I had a fun time with Kouta. We hung out, had a few drinks, danced and then went for Gyuu-don (which is basically beef and onions on top of rice.. mmmmmmmmm delish!). It was a great time.. I crashed at Kouta's place because by the time we got out of the club, the trains had stopped. Also, Kouta's house is only like a 1o minute walk from Womb whereas my place is at least an hour away by train.

Which brings me to my first complaint about living here... It takes FOREVER to get ANYWHERE!!! You know how long it takes to drive from like Milwaukee to Madison??? That's about how long it takes to get from point A to point B here in ONE CITY! Of course I'm getting used to it and it doesn't even feel like an hour is passing, but it kinda sucks that I lose a few hours out of my day just from trying to get to where I want to go. oh well.. That's life in a big city I guess.. I'm sure Tokyo is not the only place like that. New York and LA are probably the same way for those of us without automobiles.

Anyway, I have class Saturday. Whackest thing EVER!!! I better go study though, I have yet another QUIZ!! blech.. school :-(

Mrotek.. this post is just for you!!

ha ha ha Don't mean to bust you out Dan... :)
Anyway, yeah so its been a really long time since I posted something.. about two weeks almost. There have been a plethora of things that happened since last week... but since my dumb ass didn't write them down write away, I probably forgot about half. Let's try to take it day by day shall we?

Hmmm... last Monday was the day that school started. Well, one thing I can say about that is that the Japanese education system is nuts. You can forget about thinking for yourself, trying to reword things in your own words or any shit like that... Here.. you can forget all that write it in your own words cacamaime that our teachers in the STates fed us.. it's all about repeating exactly what's in the book.. And if you don't the teacher will giggle unconctrollably and point out to the entire class how incredibly stupid you sounded.. ha ha hahahah aha ha ah aha ha a So funny right? ha ha ha umm yeah...
Ok so that was Monday. Quite a few of us have gripes about the program here actually.. Cuz its just soooo goonch... but anyway...

Tuesday.. Tuesday, I had school again.. ha ha ha go figure. It was alright. I got hit on by some random guy at school which was quite honestly the first contact I had had with any Japanese students. The Japanese students at my school are either A)So wrapped up in their majors, B) Fucking ice queen bitches (the girls are anyway), C) Totally disinterested/disgusted with anyone foreign, D) Just like to make fun of the ryuugakusee (international students), or E) All of the above. Most of the girls are classified under the all of the above category... and some of the guys. So to have one actually talk to me was a step.. ha ha ha SO anyway, I'm walking to the caf (cafeteria) with my friend Jina.. and this guy is with his group of friends staring. So naturally, being the pimp that I am, I flash him a playful smile.. he was kinda cute anyway.. :-P
Anyway, he then got this huge smile and said "Hi!".. I said hi back and continued walking.... Then he turns to his friends as I'm walking away and says to them,, "Tsukiatte kudasai!" which means literally translated "Please date me!" I was a little shocked because I had my back to him, and I thought he was still talking to me, so I turn around and say "What? Kikoeta yo!" Which means "What? (Duh that part was english.. ha ha ha) I heard that you know!" And he was schocked.. Firstly, probably that I spoke Japanese, and secondly, that I heard him. HE wasn't exactly whispering it though.. So anyway, he said "Heeeee... Kikoeta nda?" "Whaaaaaaat? You heard that?" and then kinda just walked away with his friends smiling at me and I turned and went to the caf.

So that was interesting. Oh yeah we also had a quiz.. the second day of class... On stuff we had to study on our own.... Frickin A man...

So yeah.. that's all you get for now Dan.. I'm going out to Harajuku today, so I'll definitely take some more pics.. Especially of the Afro-sporting, African-American condom... lol

OK Sooo..... School sucks you know what

I started school today. Goodbye fun times in Tokyo.. hello long nights of studying Japanese Japanese and more Japanese!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! School sucks!!! I have school on Saturdays!!! But I DO have off on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.... I have so much homework, and my class is probably one of the most intense in the program. We have a quiz tomorrow!!! School just started today!!!

I can't complain enough about school but I'm not gonna fill up this blog with my complaints except this picture... It is the "The Paulina is so sad school has begun" picture:

DJ School CANCELLED!! Japanese boys + Tekken = Paulina Swearing Uncontrollably in her Mind

So yeah, I was supposed to go with Kouta to one of his friends' places.. There were going to be like 6 or 7 DJs all spinning and teaching stuff.. I was gonna go and watch and maybe try to do some more beat matching or something..

I went to meet Kouta in Shibuya.. when I got there I met two of his other DJ friends.. Some girl (we'll call her Flakey-chan and you'll see why later) and a guy named Daisuke (Which is one of the coolest names ever btw) First of all, Flakey-chan could not believe I was Kouta's friend.. whether it was because I was a foreigner or what.. but she got this really crazy, super surprised look on her face when I took my sunglasses off and I wasn't Japanese.. Kouta's cool though, he had my back for sure and introduced me and told her that I was really cool and what not.. He's my guy! ANYWAY, we were getting ready to go to this place. All we had to do was pick up the mixer.. However, Flakey-chan had not wanted to carry it around, so she tried to put it in a locker. When there were no free lockers, she ended up taking it to the police box (this little station that the police just sit in and give directions to places from... because the cops here don't really have shit to do because the crime rate is so low) ANYWAY (part of this story is speculation because I couldn't fully understand Kouta and Daisuke's explanation in Japanese, and neither of them speaks English), they filled out a form for her and told her to come back by the date on the sheet before they take it to the other station.. Well Flakey-chan copied the address down of the police box and threw away the sheet. When Kouta and Daisuke went to get the mixer, they said that they had already given it to the main station which was CLOSED! So Kouta called Flakey's phone and asked if she had the sheet they gave her because then one of the cops would go get it for her... (The paper was their only way of knowing that the mixer was hers because there were no identifying marks or labels on it) Kouta was pretty pissed because in the end, they weren't able to get the mixer and we couldn't go to DJ School... So instead me and Kouta hung out in Shibuya.. First we went to play some video games in one of the arcades...

I LOVE Tekken.. and they had Tekken 5 there!!! So of course I had to play!!! So I sit down and Kouta watches as I slowly advance through each character against the computer... then all of a sudden my match agains Hwoarang freezes and in big yellow letter it says "A NEW CHALLENEGER HAS ENTERED!" I'm looking around like huh?? In Japan, the arcade games are made so that you can't see the person you're facing... so you can't copy their moves and stuff.. on the other side of the wall was a boy with all of his friends... He was Bryan.. I was Kazuya.... We fought... He whooped my ass so badly I was gonna cry... I think I maybe landed three hits on him in three ROUNDS!!!!! So ok, I was pissed and put in another coin.. I'm gonna beat this guy I swear!!! So here we go again, this time I'm the little Chinese girl Xiaou... Damn... only five hits this time.... So I go to another machine to play against the computer again.. and there it is again!! "A NEW CHALLENGER HAS ENTERED!" Dammit! Can't I just play against the computer?!?!?! Once again, its Bryan.. this guy is just messing with me I know it.. Anyway, I held out.. we were two rounds to two rounds... it was the final round... I ALMOST beat him, but I missed a power move and ended up with my back towards him.. That was the end of that.. he whooped me so bad that I lost about 3 quarters of my life bar before I even hit the ground... When I got up he punched me twice and I was out... Damn Japanese boys and their Tekken obsession. >_<

ha ha ha So then Kouta wants to challenge me in Initial D.............. he....... he........ he he he
So, I pretend like I don't know how to play racing games... I "accidentally" choose manual transmission and of course my yellow Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution... YESS!! So Kouta thinks hes got a sure win, but I pretty much whooped his ass as bad as the Tekken kid whooped mine... It felt good. Oh Japanese boys... you underestimate us women too much.. ha ha ha

So afterwards we went for karaoke for a bit (WITHOUT THE NOMIHOUDAI!! I have school tomorrow), and after karaoke we ate ice cream and went shopping at a few record stores. While at one record store I found an Underworld CD that I wanted when Kouta drops the bombshell on me..... UNDERWORLD IS COMING TO TOKYO IN NOVEMBER!!!!! I am going to see... UNDERWORLD!!! Now for those of you who don't like electronic music or just don't like Underworld, I pity you for not being able to share my elation.. ha ha ha I'm soooo excited. Carl Cox is gonna be there too.... We're going to go to Electroglide which is an electronic music festival held here in Tokyo every year.. I'm sooooooo EXCITED!!! YESSSS!!!!!!

Now to try and bottle my excitement and finish my homework..... I hate school already...

I have school tomorrow so I have to do some more homework before I go to bed.

ummm Keio is sooo much Better than Waseda.. oh and I'm pissed off at DJ Shadow

Ok, so it was homework day (No school hasn't started yet and YES we have homework ugh).. I did homework all day today.. But I didn't finish... Then, Sarah and I decided that we were going to meet up with Ky-Lee and her friends from Waseda university in Takada no Baba. The Waseda kids (Waseda is Keio University's rival university as far as baseball is concerned.. It's a HUGE rivalry.. they actually CANCEL class for the baseball games!!) are crazy party animals. Sarah and I arrive at the Izakaya (which is a place where you can have a nomihoudai but you have to take your shoes off before you go in)... Anyway, Sarah and I get there and there are about 60 kids from Waseda and they are sooooooo drunk its unbelievable.. The amount of alcohol that was everywhere.. there was no where to sit, liquor was spilled all over.. everyone was CLEARLY beligerently drunk and could not take anymore... Oooof.. Sucks to be sober when everyone else isn't.... Below is a pic of the Izakaya.. maybe you can catch a glimpse of SOME of the craziness.

After that, I found out from this guy named Ryu (half Australian, half Japanese with an Aussie accent.. YESS!) that DJ Shadow was playing at a club in Shibuya. So we all caught a train over to the Shib and went to the club... only to find out that it cost 3500 yen to get in... Yeesh... Well we had come all this way and decided to go with it... Wow... was it packed.. not only would we not be able to see DJ Shadow, but it was sooo hot that you couldn't really dance without being drenched in sweat from you and everyone else around you... And on TOP of that... DJ Shadow didn't come out until like 2 in the morning, played till about 2:30 or 2:45 and then switched off with his friends... I paid 35 bucks to see Shadow, NOT Shadow's friends!!! >_< I was soo pissed.. but that was probably because I was a little tipsy.. ha ha ha oops. ^_~

So yeah, after that we went to McDonalds and I ate hotcakes and two hash browns... Ahhh.. McDonald's always helps bring a little taste of home when I'm homesick.... Anyway.. I have to go to sleep.. It's 7 a.m. again and I have school tomorrow.... DJ school.. YESSS!!!!

I think Sarah agrees that the Waseda kids are goonch....

Waseda sure party's it up.. Yeah that was just one corner of the room.. There were abou 7 times that many people actually there!!!!!

Soooo tired... mmmmmmm BBQ in the Jungle

Sooo yeah.... Staying out until 7 in the morning is real ruff when you wanna have a full and fun day with your friends!!

I'm a trooper!!! Today I went to a barbeque that my friend Yuka and her family were throwing in honor of Sarah and I coming to JApan. Yuka's family is sooo sweet and they cooked so much food for us!! It was absolutely delicious. They made curry rice, yakisoba with beef, yakisoba with shrimp and octopus (YES I ATE OCTOPUS! :-P), grilled salmon, grilled steak, chicken, soy beans, corn on the cob, grilled vegetables... It was all sooooo good!!! Probably the best food I've had since coming to Japan. Seriously I think I've eaten something different every day since I've been here. It's amazing!!!

After the bbq, I went to Kouta's place to have my first DJ lesson. I thought it would be really difficult at first because Kouta doesn't speak any English.. but I was able to learn just fine.. PLUS most of the words were just English words pronounced with a Japanese accent... I learned how to match the beats up so that I can switch from one record to another... It took me a while to match them up.. but I did... That's one step I suppose.. I can learn how to add all the other stuff in later.. Then Kouta and I watched Memento and the Coldplay concert on DVD. He's so talented... He plays guitar and DJs hip hop AND drum and bass. I can't wait for my next lesson!!

Here's a pic of him and pics from the bbq:

Kouta, modeling for a water ad.. lol

mmmmm fooooooooooood

Jungle Fever

Ok, so I wrote this really long post about how I got lost on the trains in Tokyo at midnight due to the fact that my friends were too drunk to wait for me anywhere. The post was really long and detailed, but for some reason, it didn't save and I don't feel like retyping it.. ugh..

The long and short of it is that I DID find them, and we went to this place called Milk (Yes, Milk ha ha ha) where I heard some of the best drum and bass of my life.
I met a DJ named Kouta.. he's so funny and cool.. Another great person I've met since I've been here. He's gonna teach me how to DJ... for real. I'm so fu*%in excited. YES ZACKIE I'M GONNA BE A DJ!!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna call him tomorrow to set up when I can have my first lesson. YESS!!! I'm so excited.. ha ha ha...

Here are some pics of the DJs.

DJs Chillin While Keita is spinning.. The one on the right is DJ Velocity, in the middle is Yui, and the one on the left I have no idea.. but he looks pretty cool drinking that beer. lol

The crowd at Milk... It was soo awesome! Everyone just enjoying the good music.. Good vibes people Good vibes (^^)

DJ Keita.. again (I'm going to go see him spin again next Thursday at Womb)

YESS!!! Eat as fast as you possibly can and get the hell out of the way!!!

I know it's here somewhere... oh..

Shinjuku station.. NUTS!! Gee where's my camera?

Can't stop looking at huge screen....

One big happy family.. watching TV together :)

Our Television set in Shinjuku.. YESS! TV in public rocks!

Mos Burger Rocks. The sign behind me says: "Hamburger is my life." McDonald's can't touch THAT as far as slogans are concerned! ha ha ha

YESS!! I love Kanye~ And so does Japan :)

The stream melody helps me to pee when I can't.. lol

Purikura booth's CRAZY English... I know that MY enjoyment was inifinitely large!!

Japanese Level: 2G

So today we had our interviews with our new Japanese teachers. Apparantly I am in Japanese level 2G. Level 2 is the intermediate level and class G is the most advanced intermediate class... Did that make sense? Well.. anyway, I'm pretty happy with where I was placed. I met one of the teachers, they were all soo very nice. The only thing I'm NOT happy about is.......... I HAVE SCHOOL ON SATURDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who does that? Who does that to someone? Obviously some cruel person at Keio University, that's who!!

Anyway, after our orientations we went to the post office so that I could open up my post office bank account (apparantly their ATM cards work everywhere and the post office banks are open later). After filling out the form, I went to open the account with the money I had left in travelers checks. Now remember.. this is Japan, so nothing is ever as easy as that. Apparantly, the post office does not exchange travelers checks like I was told. I'm running out of the initial money that I had exchanged so of course I'm like.. "Oh shit........" The guy tells me to run down to the bank down the street to exchange them and come back... The time was 2:56.. all regular banks in Japan close at 3 p.m. So I'm like running down the street staring blindly at the signs realizing that I don't remember the character for bank.. don't know which direction he wanted me to go in etc... SO.. in short.. no bank account today.. ha ha ha

After the bank fiasco (because anything administrative in Japan that I've gone through so far is a fiasco.. ha ha ha), we (Sarah, Daniel, Ky-lee, and me) decided to go to Mos Burger... Japan's deluxe fast food hamburger joint. Their claim to fame is THE Mos Burger.. which is a hamburger with like spaghetti sauce on it and tomato and cheese... Of course, I wasn't feeling as adventureous today as I was yesterday, so I decided to just have a chicken sandwich fries and onion rings and coke and a shake. ha ha ha All in all, I ended up pretty full. ha ha ha

After Mos Burger, we went to Tower Records in Shinjuku. I swear they love American hip hop here more than Americans do. ha ha ha Kanye West and Common are being heavily promoted here as well... See my pics :)

After Tower Records, we went people watching in the same square where we meant the Japanese monkeys (See prior post about SPBW and friend). There we watched television with everyone else on the bigscreen on one of the buildings. See pics :)

After that, we went to eat AGAIN. This time we ate at one of those SUPER cheap fast food Japanese places where you have to stand and pretty much inhale all your food and get out of the way for the salarymen (business men) who are eating quick on their way back to their overtime work. I also took pics of that.

After the fast food (which gave me heartburn because I ate too fast.. ha ha ha), we went to an arcade and played a few video games. Then we (Daniel, Sarah, and I) decided to do "purikura" which is one of those photo booths where you get the sticker pictures or whatever. The one we did was UBER crazy... It had music and poles you could hang from for poses and shit... It had two cameras and you totally had to pose like rockstars. I'm going to scan the pictures and put them on here later. CRAAAAZY.. ha ha ha

After that we decided to come home... in the meantime Sarah and I rated all the hot Japanese guys on the train. Wow.. sooo many hot Asians.. ha ha ha okok I'll stop. lol

I'm going to hit the sack now. Got the opening ceremony at school tomorrow morning.
Bye bye~~

mmmm Red Tape and REAL Chinese Cell Phones!!!

ha ha ha

Ok, so this morning Ky-Lee and I and about 15 other people from my dorm along with Hongo-san (Mrs. Hongo, our dorm mother-type) all went to the local ward office for some red tape.. I mean.. for our alien registration. ha ha ha It took about two and half hours for me to get my certificate stating that I could come back and get a certificate stating that I am approved for a card that says I am a registered alien. But the card won't be there for another two or three weeks...

Pain in the ass anyone? ha ha ha I THOUGH I needed a certificate to get a cell phone (keitai denwa.. or keitai for short) and open a bank account. Apparantly, that's all a farse. I have a CELL PHONE NOW!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

Here's a few pics of my cute ass phone.. ha ha ha

So yeah, I'm sooo happy that I have a cell phone now. Now I can join the throngs of Japanese in their text messaging endeavours. YESS!! Slowly but surely I'm turning Japanese I really think so... (Yeah I know that was corny.. but hey...)

The cell phone process was ALSO a pain.. but obviously, everything worked out.

After the whole cell phone fiasco, I met up with Seiji again. We came back to the lounge in my dorm and spent an hour or so practicing English. I am apparantly his new English teacher. ha ha ha It's cool though, I don't mind because I enjoy his company. He's a lot of fun. After the English lesson, we were sooo hungry.. But there is jack sh** here in Kawasaki, so we decided to go to Yokohama. By the time we got off the train, we were delerious with hunger and both of us had a huge craving for tempura. Now.. whenever I'm NOT looking for tempura I see about a billion shops, but after walking for like 20 minutes, we had no luck. So we finally waved down a taxi that took us to Chinatown which is part of Yokohama. There, Seiji took me to this Chinese restaurant that had the best Chinese food I've ever had in my entire life!!! It was one of those course meals that had like 8 courses.. I had sweet and sour fish, this orange lobster thing, some soup with weird clear noodles and eggs in it, I even ate JELLYFISH!!! The jellyfish was soooooo good!!!! I drank tea... ME... TEA!! ha ha ha. This trip to Japan has really opened up my culinary tastes that's for sure. Things I would never have tried in the states I am eating here like it's nothing. But I suppose that's because I don't really have a choice. ha ha ha

Anyway, Seiji and I just hung out in Yokohama for the night after our Chinese feast. Then, to bed I went.. I was exhausted from the day of red tape, cell phones, and jellyfish.. mmmmmmmmm Chinese cell phones......

Harajuku is where it's at

If you're Gwen Stefani and have tons of money!!! Yeah, so today Sarah and I went to Harajuku (You know the place Gwen Stefani always sings about but can't seem to pronounce right? Yeah that's the place...). There we met our friend Yuka (The girl who picked me up from the airport with Butsurin). We took a little walk and since I was feeling a little homesick that way, we made our way to the American embassy...... McDonalds. YESS!!!

Now, I had a bad experience with the embassy in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, AND France... it just didn't taste right.. Something was horribly wrong... Japan just couldn't AFFORD to let me down... And it didn't. It was the greasiest, most delicious replica of what an American double cheeseburger should be. Happy I was, gassy I was... (Yoda-speak YESS!)

Anyway, after barely being able to finish my gas infested meal, we decided to go window shopping. But that was not before I needed to use the potty... and there it was.. the first time I had ever seen a crazily high tech Japanese toilet. I'm SOOO SORRY I did not take a picture of it, because I did not think of it at the time, but I will try to sell you a high tech toilet by describing all of its wonderful features.

~~Step right up!! Here we have a wonderful toilet with bedet, a butt cheek washer, heated toilet seat (which was really weird because when I sat down, it felt like someone had sat down on the toilet seat for a long time before me... I dunno.. it was kinda disturbing.. ha ha ha), three musical options... 1)Beethoven's Fur Elise while you pee, 2)Flushing song (which was basically just the sound of a toilet flushing over and over so that you could poop discreetly), ha ha ha and 3)Fountain song (which is the sound of some water running.. which I am guessing is used to get you to pee if you can't already.. lol). All in all.. this toilet is a the 8th wonder of the world.. why not have one in your very own bathroom?!?!!?

Soooo.. do you wanna buy one? ha ha ha No? Alright.. maybe some other time then.

Hokay, so then we went window shopping. I'm telling you right now that it took every ounce of self control for me to not send myself to the poor house. There were soooooo many cute clothes, shoes, accesories, etc.... My favorite was this pair of earings that said "Starfucks Coffee" instead of starbucks... And the logo was a skull with long wavy hair... YESSS!!

Then Yuka just took us on a walking tour through Harajuku which eventually turns into Shibuya.. Shibuya is definitely turning out to be one of my favorite places to hang out. I swear to you, the people-watching you can do here is amazing. I am totally entertained just sitting in one place for a few hours just watching the people go by. It's amazing.

Here are some pictures that I took from our trip through Harajuku and such... Note: I'm trying to be a lil artsy fartsy with my pics. lol.. So if I have crazy angles that make you think "What the hell is she doing?" just don't laugh at me ok? Thanks bye~~

Kyou Yokohoma e ita no yo~~~

Yeah so the title means: "Today I went to Yokohama~~~"

Today I hung out with that guy names Seiji that I met the other night. He took me to Yokohama which was really nice. Yokohama is right on the ocean, so the smell of the ocean and fresh air was really nice. We did a lot today... We got to Yokohama at around 8:3o a.m. We then waited in line to buy tickets for a movie. He took me to go and see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. That movie was awesome by the way!! I loved the new Willy Wonka.. he was hilarious. The movie was in English with Japanese subtitles, so I was able to understand everything really well. Unfortunately, I was the only American, and the only one who could understand the jokes. So I laughed by myself through pretty much the entire movie.

Then Seiji and I walked around and just chatted. IT was really great because he only speaks about four words of English, so I really got to use my Japanese a lot. I'm getting better I think.. Anyway, he's a pretty cool guy. I hope we become even better friends. After our walk, we got on the famous Yokohama ferris wheel. Seriously that ferris wheel has to be like 20 stories high. It's huge!!! Here are some pictures of the view from the top:

After the ferris wheel we went on another walk and then decided to get on the paddle boats. That was fun except for the fact that giant carp kept flopping out of the water and I was afraid one would flop into our boat. Yokohama was really great though cause I could use a lot of Japanese...

Here is a pic of Seiji and I at the little theme park in Yokohama:

After I got home from Yokohama, I left soon after to go to Shibuya again with Sarah, Daniel, and Kylee. Only this time, we went there to meet Sarah's old conversation partner from Madison. His name is Yuichi. We met Yuichi and went to get something to eat. Japanese food is soo marvellous.. lol

Afterward, we went to Baskin Robbins!! YESSS!!! I <3>

We were all still pretty tired from a combination of our string of late nights and from walking around everywhere, so we decided to come home early. Then I decided to update my blog for the past three days. lol It's taken me almost 2 hours! ha ha ha

Anyway, tomorrow is a JApanese national holiday, so not much will be open. I'm going to do my laundry during the day and then Sarah and Kylee and most likely Daniel and I will be heading out to Harajuku tomorrow night. That should make for some interesting pictures.

In closing I will leave you with a bit of British slang:

"Look at 'im... givin' them all the lemons..."

See if you can guess what that means... I'll let ya know in a later post...

"EVELYBODY... SCLEAM!!!!!!!!" ha ha ha

Tokyo Game Show

Note to self: Never drink all the way until 5 a.m., get home at 6:30.. wake up at 10:30... wake up being more drunk than you were when you went to sleep... And then going to a video game convention filled with thousands of sweaty nerds, tons of loud video games, and no aspirin... Lord.... lol

So yeah, we all know that I am a video game nerd and I LOOOOVE me some video games.. Well, I got the chance to go to the Tokyo Game show on Saturday... The Tokyo Game Show is a lot like the E3 convention for video games held in L.A. every May, except!! : 1) It's waay bigger, 2) It's open to the public, 3) It's in Tokyo (duh) and I guess I can't really say anything else because since I've never been to E3 I have nothing to compare to.. ANYWAY, I got to take a look at the latest games coming out for the latest systems.. And I got to see some great pre-rendered movies for the X-Box 360 and Playstation 3.

I guess I'll start with the Playstation 3.... Yeah.. I'm buying one. Only because it will probably be the sweetest gaming system EVER! ha ha ha Not only is the hardware groundbreaking.. not only am I a nerd who studies how the cell processor works.. WEll not THAT much in depth.. Roger, I'm sure you know more than me ha ha ha I got to see a pre-rendered Metal Gear Solid 4 video.. IT looks freaking fantastic!!!

What else, oh yeah.. the Xbox 360.. umm yeah.. WANT IT!! Now I've never been a huge fan of Xbox, but my god.. after seeing the demos at the convention how could I not want one??? ha ha ha

Ok enough dorkiness... how about the crazy cosplayers?? Now, for those of you who DON'T know what cosplay is... It's when people dress up in costume as their favorite characters from video games and such. I guess all I can say is that the funniest cosplay I've ever seen is in this picture to the left.. And yes.. if you look closely.. YES, that is a bulge in between Cammy's legs... Yes ladies and gentlemen.. These are MEN dressed as Cammy from streetfighter.. and some female character from another game.. I don't really know who it is... Yeah.. this was probably the most INTERESTING of all cosplays that I saw that day... to say the least...

Moving on.. lol...

We spent all day at the convention. It took like 2 hours to get there by train, but then we grabbed the express home. That's one thing that is annoying about living here.. It takes at least an hour to get ANYWHERE... But luckily the train system is so well developed and convenient.. It could be worse.

Anyway, after the show, we got back and there was a party at my apartment building.. Kind of like a mixer type thing with free food and beer. I love Japan and how everyone here loves to drink lol. We hung out with some of the people from our dorm and then I decided to call it a night.

That night (Saturday), Seiji (see previous post) gave me a ring and asked if I would like to hang out the next day.. which is today... I'll post about that in a separate post so that you don't confuse the days.

Anyway, all in all Friday and Saturday pretty much blurred into one day.

Oh, and family? In case you're wondering.. I'm over that cold now. No more being sick!! YAAAY!!!
