mmmm Red Tape and REAL Chinese Cell Phones!!!

ha ha ha

Ok, so this morning Ky-Lee and I and about 15 other people from my dorm along with Hongo-san (Mrs. Hongo, our dorm mother-type) all went to the local ward office for some red tape.. I mean.. for our alien registration. ha ha ha It took about two and half hours for me to get my certificate stating that I could come back and get a certificate stating that I am approved for a card that says I am a registered alien. But the card won't be there for another two or three weeks...

Pain in the ass anyone? ha ha ha I THOUGH I needed a certificate to get a cell phone (keitai denwa.. or keitai for short) and open a bank account. Apparantly, that's all a farse. I have a CELL PHONE NOW!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

Here's a few pics of my cute ass phone.. ha ha ha

So yeah, I'm sooo happy that I have a cell phone now. Now I can join the throngs of Japanese in their text messaging endeavours. YESS!! Slowly but surely I'm turning Japanese I really think so... (Yeah I know that was corny.. but hey...)

The cell phone process was ALSO a pain.. but obviously, everything worked out.

After the whole cell phone fiasco, I met up with Seiji again. We came back to the lounge in my dorm and spent an hour or so practicing English. I am apparantly his new English teacher. ha ha ha It's cool though, I don't mind because I enjoy his company. He's a lot of fun. After the English lesson, we were sooo hungry.. But there is jack sh** here in Kawasaki, so we decided to go to Yokohama. By the time we got off the train, we were delerious with hunger and both of us had a huge craving for tempura. Now.. whenever I'm NOT looking for tempura I see about a billion shops, but after walking for like 20 minutes, we had no luck. So we finally waved down a taxi that took us to Chinatown which is part of Yokohama. There, Seiji took me to this Chinese restaurant that had the best Chinese food I've ever had in my entire life!!! It was one of those course meals that had like 8 courses.. I had sweet and sour fish, this orange lobster thing, some soup with weird clear noodles and eggs in it, I even ate JELLYFISH!!! The jellyfish was soooooo good!!!! I drank tea... ME... TEA!! ha ha ha. This trip to Japan has really opened up my culinary tastes that's for sure. Things I would never have tried in the states I am eating here like it's nothing. But I suppose that's because I don't really have a choice. ha ha ha

Anyway, Seiji and I just hung out in Yokohama for the night after our Chinese feast. Then, to bed I went.. I was exhausted from the day of red tape, cell phones, and jellyfish.. mmmmmmmmm Chinese cell phones......
