Herro boy!!!
Wow what a day I had today. ha ha ha
This morning I woke up bright and early (6:00 a.m.) to go take my placement test at the university. That was pretty interesting. Our campus is really nice, and our teachers all seem really sweet. It should be a good year at school hopefully.
After the test, we at lunch at the cafeteria on campus. I opted for the Katsudon Curry which is that fried pork chop thing with curry on top and rice. It was really good, but kinda heavy. Anyway, we got a chance to walk that off later.
We went to Shinjuku again today so that I could go buy my guitar. I got one for a really good deal, so now I'll be able to practice while I'm here. For some reason though, a girl carrying a guitar in Japan is an automatic guy magnet!!! As soon as I started carrying my case, it seemed like every hot guy was staring at me. YESS!! ha ha ha j/k It WAS kinda weird though how people paid more attention to you if they thought you were a musician. ANYWAY.. back to our shinjuku story..
After I purchased my guitar (I went with Sarah and Cailee by the way... Cailee (I think that's how you spell it) is a sweet girl that lives in my apartment building and is from Sydney, Australia), we went for another walk through Shinjuku. After basking in all the stares of the stylish guys walking around, we decided to take a break in a plaza in this one part of Shinjuku. There, some of the funniest events of my life unfolded.....
So we're sitting there and across the way are these Japanese (no shit, I'm in Japan) guys all stylin and stuff with super styled highlighted hair etc.. One of them waves at me (which is totally rare in Japan because I wave at a lot of people and they just look at me crazy). I took the opportunity to wave back. Then he starts blowing kisses at me, attempting to flirt. ha ha ha Then his friend next to him starts blowing kisses too, this time not only at me but at Sarah and Cailee too. So we're just laughing at these guys.. Seems innocent, but wait, it gets weirder.
So they get bored of blowing kisses and one of them stands up and decides to attempt the splits while the other one reaches over and puts his hand over the guy's crotch. Yes.. he put his hand over another man's genitals... It gets better..
Meanwhile, me and the girls are just cracking up, and they start blowing kisses again and trying to get us to come over by them... So then the one that does the splits gets up, turns around, bends over and wiggles his butt at us.. Once again I'm dying.. Are these guys serious? Is this what Japanese girls go for or something? ANYWAY, it gets BETTER!! AS the guy is bent over, the other one gets up and starts rubbing dude's butt and pretending to spank it!!! Then the guy turns around sits down and the other guy pretends to rub his nipple. At this point I say "Oh my God" really loud and the guys imitate me and laugh.. I yell over in Japanese "Baka ni shinaide!" which means "Don't make fun of me!" They were surprised that I could speak Japanese and found it funny that I said what I did.. At this point the girls and I are now dying of laughter when they FINALLY decided to come over and talk to us. The one with the tie says to me: "Herro boy!" I say.. "ummm Hello boy" right back. Then he starts laughing like I said something hysterically funny.
Then the splits-performing-butt-wiggling (well just call him SPBW) guy decides to speak: "Ano, doko kara kita no?" (Where are you guys from.) I respond with a "Amerika kara kita." (We're from America.) "Wow!!" As he makes his way over to Sarah: "I am a Japaneseu Monkey." Sarah says: "Nihon no saru desu ka?" (You are a Japanese monkey?) He replies: "Hai, Nihon no saru desu yo." (Yes I am a Japanese monkey.) Then he made some weird jerky movements. At this point I am compelled to take pictures of these guys as to show you all what they look like. So we all posed for some pictures. Then, the SPBW proceeds to tell us what nice bodies we have. He looks at us and says "Nice body" in a thick Japanese accent. Then kinda stares for a bit. We're just sitting there not knowing what to say or do when SPBW talks to Sarah about her peircing and her belt buckle. Finally they realize that they aren't gonna get anywhere with us and bid us adieu and go back to their spot where they proceeded to harass some other Japanese chicks in short skirts..
Now I realize that the hilarity of the situation is not easily expressed via a weblog, but I felt the need to share it anyway. LOL!!!!
Anyway, after our adventure in Shinjuku, Sarah and I made our way back home while Cailee stayed to meet friends. We came home and watched some Kodomo no Omocha and practiced the guitar. Sarah and I have decided to start a band called "Ringo Juusu" and we are going to perform on the street in Shibuya and Harajuku and such.. ha ha ha
Anyway, then we hung out with Daniel for a bit, and now I'm posting this blog.
I've sorta gotten over my jet lag in that I haven't taken a nap today.. So hopefully tomorrow I'll be over it for the most part. And did I forget to mention that it was a GORGEOUS day today!? Oh my sweet Jesus it was wonderful. It wasn't humid and it was breezy and cool. IT felt great after all this 90 degree (Farenheit) and 90% humidity days since I've been here.
So I guess that's it, I have orientation early tomorrow morning so I'm gonna go to sleep now.
Hope everyone is well and is enjoying the blog!
Miss you all!!
