International Convention in Miura ~ ★
So this weekend, I am heading out to Miura (which is out of the city of Tokyo and is over on the Ocean.. sorry my Japanese geography is horrible so in actuality I really don't know WHERE I'm going.. he he he).. ANYWAY.. Sarah and I signed up for this international seminar thing where we get to hang out with kids from different colleges in the city of Tokyo. Basically like a retreat with kids from different colleges. All of them were freshman and sophomores, and although I'm not MUCH older than them.. I really felt like it, seeing as this is my 5th year in college.... he he he
Anyway, it was tons of fun. We had all of these little group activities where we got to know each other and ate a lot of really good food. I met a lot of really cool new peeps too. Though I forgot to exchange phone numbers.... I wonder if I'll ever see them again..... (T.T)
He he he, ANYWAY, it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot more about Japanese people and how friggin SHY they can be... he he he
One of the activities was a paper airplane contest... in which my team decided that we were going with an "American standard" design... Shortly put.. they made me make the actual plane and spent time working on the decorations.. he he he
Another activity we did was make skits... Our skit was a parody of Little Red Riding Hood ("Akazukin chan" in Japanese..) and once again.. they made ME play "Akazukin chan"... Lovely... I was extra nervous because the whole skit was in Japanese.. but it was cool. For those of you who don't know what a Japanese "host" is... here is my explanation: It's basically some guy who thinks he's really hot who charges you money by the hour for him to spend time with you in a host bar and pour your drinks for you and light your cigarettes etc..... Shortly put: Male companionship. So anyway, when you're walking around Shinjuku's "Kabuki cho" which is Tokyo's redlight district... You get a ton of hosts hounding you to come back to their host bar with them...
With this idea, we parodied Little Red Riding hood.... While on the way to see her grandmother in Shimbashi, Little Red Riding Hood is hounded by a host ("The wolf")... Anyway, it ended up being a really good skit and everyone thought it was hilarious.
For the one night that we DID stay over, we all got into the bath... together..... It was one of those infamous Japanese "everyone shower together" places... I was really nervous..... Of course girls and guys were separated but, I had to keep telling myself that everyone else in here has what I has and nobody is looking at you. I actually warmed up to it pretty quickly.. I was really just making a bigger deal of it than I had to. And when we got in the giant bath tub.. nothing felt better. I swear Japanese baths are the best. The water is so hot and nice... For some reason, its just not the same as taking a bath in the states.
So all in all, it was a really good weekend. I had a great time meeting new people, making new friends, taking a shower/bath with a bunch of other naked women, and being Little Red Riding hood he he he...
Tomorrow is my first night as an MC. I will be MCing while Kouta DJs at this bar in Shibuya called On@Off. As much as my big bro Zach makes fun of me for it.. he he he... I'm going to be doing the whole rap bit and the "EVerybody throw your hands in the air" deal.... It's a little embarassing to think about but at the same time, I've been practicing and stuff.. So I think it might be fun. Who knows........ I'm actually kinda nervous because everybody from the D&B crew is supposed to be there.... eeek...
Anyway, I better get to bed so that I can be ready for this show. LATER peeps :)
